VIETNAM’S DIRECTORATE SPORTS ON DPRK VISIT

On the invitation of the Committee for Physical Training and Sports of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, a delegation from Vietnam’s Directorate Sports led by its Director General Vuong Bich Thang paid a visit to DPRK from May 4 to 8, 2010.

Accompanying him was also the Vietnam National Woman Volleyball Squad of 16-members who had their training exchange until May 15, 2010. The visit contributed to strengthening friendship, interaction and cooperation between the people of Vietnam and DPRK.

During their stay in DPRK, the delegates conveyed a gift by the Vietnam’s Directorate Sports to General Secretary Kim Jong IL, and shared view on sports management and development with their DPRK counterparts. They visited Kumsusan Memorial Palace, Mankyungdae (President Kim IL Sung’s native village), Mansudae Statue, Juche Tower, Daesongsan Revolutionary Martyr Cemetery, and some cultural premises in Pyongyang and provinces. The Vietnam National Woman Volleyball Squad exchanged their professional experiences in exposure and physical fitness with several strong volleyball clubs in DPRK.
