 Welcome to the official website of the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. The launch of this Website is aimed at offering users a look and information on Vietnam and her people while further promoting understanding and friendship between Vietnam and DPRK.
 
 Vietnam, a beautiful country, boasts a history of thousand years long with a unique and diverse culture. More than 85 million Vietnamese people of 54 different ethnicities are diligent, open, friendly, and lead a harmonious life in unity. Vietnam under her industrialization, modernization and international integration has emerged as a potential market, a safe and charming destination.
 
 Over the last 20 years, Viet Nam has harvested significant achievements in every aspect of economy, politics, culture and society. She has fulfilled well her role as a responsible member with positive contributions in all international and regional organizations. On her development march, Vietnam puts the top priority on solving social issues, hunger -elimination, poverty-alleviation, social justice and environmental matters in order to ensure sustainable development. Vietnam is striving to become basically a modern, industrialized country by 2020.
 
 Viet Nam and Democratic People’s Republic of Korea enjoy their traditional relations of friendship, cooperation, solidarity, reciprocal support and assistance. They formally established their diplomatic relations in January, 1950. In recent years, the friendship and cooperation between the two countries have seen important developments and both countries are committed to elevate their bilateral ties to a higher plane in the interest of the two peoples, for peace, stability and development in the region and whole world.
 
 It is our hope that the Website will serve as a useful information channel to facilitate understanding on the country and people of Viet Nam whose arms are always open to welcome you. The Website would also assist in consular matters (visa, marriage, etc…) so that this Mission might be of more help to you.
